John LeMieux Runs For Florida Senate
Former US senator John LeMieux will be campaigning for United States senate within great state of Florida. He had been sent to to the senate in 2009 by his longtime buddy and associate governor Charlie Crist back in 2009. The governor did this in an effort to take the seat within the then forthcoming election of ’10 and had been positioning himself for the job. What he needed was an ally to essentially hold the seat for him. Back then it had been expected that he would succeed the primary, but in the end was surpassed by the more conservative candidate Mark Rubio.
Now that democrat senator Bob Nelson’s seat is open, John LeMieux wants an enduring post in the United States senate by making a bid within the republican 2012 primary. A leading topic of his is concerning the funding of various defense initiatives occurring throughout the state. He is convinced these particular developments really should be incorporated to the budget as they will provide 10 thousand job positions to Florida. This administration’s posture on slashing defense funds will lead to overwhelming employment decline not only in Florida, but all over the country as well.
He says the new healthcare bill causes huge taxation raises to Americans, contributing to the shortfall inside the overall economy and eliminates job opportunities inside the non-public sector; therefore this law needs to be overturned and replaced with something which encourages job growth. In order to do this he suggests to bar frivolous litigation to make it possible for businesses to grow, and permit US residents to acquire healthcare outside state lines in order to make health care cheaper and promote competition, and stop the false insurance claims or the bogus charging that frequently occur at the fault of consumers and occasionally companies.
On standard conservative beliefs he looks pretty dependable. He’s self-reported to be Pro-Life and a defender of the Second Amendment and additionally feels marriage needs to be between a male and a woman exclusively and protects the sanctity of marriage. In Aug ’09 the leader of the National Rifle Association, Marion Hammer, mentioned that the candidate possesses an A standing with the group and that he is a strong advocate of firearm legal rights.
LeMieux has been isolating himself from his former boss since he deserted Republicans in 2010 to make a bid for the senate job as an third party nominee. He highlights that he did not approve of the decision to swap parties and deplored it brazenly. Lots of conservatives believed Crist would be a spoiler for Mark Rubio and even though that did not happen there still has been controversy surrounding him.
His campaign site does not formally even refer to Crist’s name, but alternatively it states he had been employed as a consultant for a FL governor. The particular association is bound to be brought up by other republican competitors in an effort to discredit his legitimacy. Will distancing himself himself stick with republicans inside the Senate election in Florida? Perhaps, nevertheless his challengers will almost certainly keep bringing the issue to the forefront.
