Aegukka (North Korea) Parody
Sunday, June 27th, 2010
Don’t miss my other anthems! So far, the parodies for the UK, Canada, Germany, Norway, France, the US, Russia, Italy, Sweden, China, Japan, Israel and North Korea has been released.
Aegukka (The Patriotic Song) is the national anthem of North Korea. It is also known by the first phrase of the song Ach’imŭn pinnara or “Let Morning Shine.”
Before the founding of North Korea, Korea had as its anthem the current anthem of South Korea, but North Korea adopted this newly-written piece in 1947. The words were written by Pak Seyŏng (박세영; 朴世永; 1902–1989) and the music was composed by Kim Wŏn’gyun (김원균; 金元均; 1917–2002).
I mean no offense to the countries parodied, except in this case. I dislike North Korea. Even though we all know that the government is the problem, the government is so all-present in the nation that the government IS the nation. I would like to see Korea reunited under a democratic regime one day, i.e. that the South Koreans take over.

I do not promise anything, but if you want me to make a parody of YOUR national anthem, your country could be next, given that it is a nation of some international or historical significance. Requests should be made as comments to my videos; i check my PM inbox less often!
Duration : 0:1:39
First of all: The video does NOT necessarily reflect my opinions on Israel and/or the conflicts in the Middle East. As in ALL my other anthem videos, they reflect common stereotypes about the nation, and are supposed to be sung by a national from the country that is parodied. Since the stereotype is that Israel is jingoistic, the Israeli personification will salute the army.
Parody of Owl City’s “Fireflies”.
